Fantasia is a short prelude that develops starting from a simple interval of a semitone. This single interval becomes a generating element of increasingly more expressive melodic gestures. The sound world of Roberto Gerhard and his Fantasia were the sources of inspiration. The composition does not have a thematic link with the masterpiece of the Catalan composer, that with this Fantasia has in common beyond the title just the use of a specific type of scale, but is inspired by the nocturnal atmosphere evoked by his piece. In its brevity, the composition investigates these atmospheres through the exploration of the polyphonic and timbric potentials of the instrument. Fantasia is dedicated to Andrea Dieci who with his extreme sensitivity is able to manipulate the tone of the guitar in a unique way.
Il brano Fantasia é un piccolo preludio che si sviluppa partendo da una semplice cellula di un semitono. Progressivamente questo singolo intervallo diventa elemento generatore di gesti melodici via via più espressivi. Il mondo sonoro di Roberto Gerhard e la sua Fantasia sono stati la fonte di ispirazione. La composizione non ha un legame tematico con il capolavoro del maestro catalano, che con questa Fantasia ha in comune oltre al titolo solo l’uso di un certo tipo di scale, ma si ispira piuttosto al clima notturno evocato dal suo brano. Nella sua brevità la composizione indaga queste sonorità attraverso una ricerca timbrica che esplora le potenzialità polifoniche e timbriche dello strumento. La Fantasia è dedicata ad Andrea Dieci che con la sua estrema sensibilità è in grado di trattare e maneggiare in modo unico il timbro della chitarra.
